design door Harmo.paris, op vraag van Julie Kegels x Cour gallery voor de Antwerp Design Week & het Antwerp Fashion Festival. Geinspireerd op de collectie A/W van Julie Kegels.

For this exhibition, Kegels calls up her close-knit network of collaborators, made up of friends, designers, and practitioners who have helped build her universe over time. Each participant is invited to present a work in response to the “Julie Kegels woman” as consistently defined since the label’s first season: a contemporary working woman navigating multiple roles at once, who (despite everything) somehow makes it work.

The show mirrors this condition as a continuous state of all work / all play, with no clean separation between the two. Contributors include a mix of emerging and established voices to which COUR responds with a selection of international and intergenerational positions who extend the constellation beyond Julie’s immediate circle.

By bringing this project into the dovetailing frameworks of Antwerp Design Week and Antwerp Fashion Festival, the exhibition celebrates a category collapse alongside a group of creatives who challenge the limits of their own areas of expertise.

In february, the piece was on view at the @cour_space section during Matter and Shape in Paris.

The chair was originally developed for Julie Kegels’ FW25/26 collection, Dress Code. The starting point was a series of iconic chair typologies, including the LC2 by Le Corbusier, the Barcelona chair by Mies van der Rohe, and the Wassily chair by Marcel Breuer.

By prompting these design icons into the process, we generated a new design that references their visual language while remaining clearly distinct. The result is not a replication, but a subtle nod to these modernist classics.

The upholstery is made from patchwork leather sourced from Julie Kegels’ collection, connecting the piece directly to the garments it was created alongside.
